Ministry of Islamic Affairs Outlines Comprehensive Plans to Expand Mosque Infrastructure and Localize Imams

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has announced new strategic initiatives focused on expanding mosque construction nationwide while accelerating the localization of imam and muezzin positions through specialized training programs.
Under the updated framework, the ministry aims to construct and rehabilitate hundreds of mosques across newly developed urban districts and residential expansions, ensuring modern architectural standards and environmental sustainability. Concurrently, the localization initiative prioritizes equipping qualified national cadres with advanced training in religious scholarship, community outreach, and administrative governance.
Officials emphasized that these measures support national developmental goals by enhancing the institutional efficiency of religious centers, fostering moderate values, and ensuring that community guidance is driven by highly qualified local scholars.
