Al-Nassr Bounce Back in AFC Champions League Elite with 3-1 Victory Over Neftchi Fergana

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr secured their first victory of the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite stage, defeating Uzbekistani outfit Neftchi Fergana 3-1 on Monday evening at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.
The home side responded strongly after their opening Matchday 1 defeat in the competition. Brazilian winger Ângelo opened the scoring in the 33rd minute before team captain Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, guiding Al-Nassr to a comfortable 2-0 halftime advantage.
Spanish defender Íñigo Martínez extended Al-Nassr’s margin early in the second period, heading home in the 48th minute. Neftchi Fergana pulled a goal back shortly after when Alisher Odilov found the net in the 51st minute, but the Saudi hosts controlled possession and defensive shape to wrap up the three points comfortably.
The result marks a crucial continental recovery for head coach Ange Postecoglou’s team, lifting Al-Nassr back up the League Stage West table heading into Matchday 3.
