Saudi Arabia’s AI Tool Usage Doubles in a Year, Led by Women Users
Search remains the dominant AI use case in Saudi Arabia, while women show stronger engagement in learning, creative, and technical applications.

Saudi Arabia’s AI Tool Usage Doubles in a Year, Led by Women Users

More than half of female internet users in Saudi Arabia use AI tools, outpacing male users, according to the Communications, Space and Technology Commission’s (CST) Saudi Internet Report 2025.
The report found that 52.8% of female internet users used AI tools, compared with 39.4% of male users. Overall, AI tool adoption among internet users in the Kingdom reached 45.2%, more than double the previous year.
Among the most downloaded AI applications were ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and DeepSeek, while Saudi AI company HUMAIN ranked 10th on the list.
Information search was the most common use case for AI tools, with 80.8% of users relying on them for this purpose. Other popular applications included idea generation (40.1%) and study and education (37.7%).
Women reported higher usage than men across several categories, including study and education (42.4% versus 32.9%), image, video, or presentation creation (29.7% versus 21.6%), language translation (26.8% versus 23.4%), and programming and technical tasks (14.3% versus 12.8%).
However, usage patterns were nearly identical between men and women for information search, idea generation, and writing. Women trailed men by less than one percentage point across all three categories.
AI usage was highest among younger internet users, with the 20–29 age group recording the highest adoption rate at 55.7%, followed by users aged 10–19 at 53.4%.
Saudi Arabia recorded 99.6% internet penetration in 2025, with 96% of users accessing government e-services. The report identified Nafath, Absher, Nusuk, Tawakkalna, GOSI, Sehhaty, Najiz, SPL Online, Madrasati, and Balady among the most downloaded government applications.
Regionally, AI tool usage was highest in Tabuk at 58.5%, exceeding Riyadh’s adoption rate of 50.2%.
