Israeli Military Issues Evacuation Orders in Southern Lebanon Ahead of Targeted Airstrikes

The Israeli military issued urgent evacuation warnings for residents in parts of southern Lebanon early Monday, instructing civilian populations to vacate specific areas ahead of planned airstrikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.

Through Arabic-language social media warnings, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Lt. Col. Ella Waweya called on residents in Deir Zahrani and Arab Salim to immediately leave designated buildings and maintain a distance of at least 300 meters (984 feet). The IDF stated that the strikes are a direct response to a “blatant violation” of the regional framework agreement, citing Hezbollah’s launch of explosive-laden drones toward Israeli troops operating along the border “security zone”.

Following the evacuation notices, Lebanese state media confirmed that Israeli airstrikes struck targets in Deir Zahrani. The military escalation comes amid heightened tensions along the border, with Lebanese health authorities reporting multiple casualties from preceding strikes across the south over the weekend.
