MIS Partners with BSF Capital for 48MW Data Centre Expansion in Saudi Arabia
Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BSF Capital to evaluate the development of three new data centres across Saudi Arabia, marking another step in the Kingdom’s expanding digital infrastructure ambitions.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will study the feasibility of building data centres in three major cities with a combined estimated capacity of 48 megawatts (MW). The proposed facilities are expected to support the growing demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence workloads, enterprise applications, and digital government initiatives.
As part of the project, MIS is expected to serve as the designer, developer, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor, leveraging its expertise in delivering large-scale technology infrastructure.
The initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which prioritises digital transformation, economic diversification, and the development of advanced technology ecosystems. Expanding local data centre capacity is becoming increasingly important as organisations accelerate cloud adoption and data localisation requirements continue to evolve.
While the MoU represents the initial stage of the collaboration, the feasibility studies will determine the scope, locations, and commercial viability of the proposed facilities before any final investment decisions are made.
The partnership underscores MIS’s continued focus on strengthening the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure and supporting Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional hub for data centres and emerging technologies. If realised, the three facilities would add significant capacity to the country’s growing digital economy and help meet increasing demand for secure, high-performance computing infrastructure.
